Buying New Baby Gifts: Unique Baby Gifts for a Baby Shower

By Edie Mindell

Sometimes choosing gifts for baby showers is not as simple as going to the store in which the expectant mother is registered, and picking an item on the list. Sometimes, mothers choose not to register with a specific store, and sometimes, they register with a store but when you print out the list, there are no items that were picked that fall in your budget.

There are even times when parents decide not to find out the gender of the baby until the date of birth. So you ask yourself, "What do I do in this circumstance? What kind of gift can I buy? What kind of gift would be suitable for any baby, whether they be a boy or a girl?" When it comes to deciding on a unisex gift for a baby shower, choosing general items that are essential for every baby is key.

Today, there are tons of unisex baby clothes available in the market. Go to your local baby department store, or check the infants clothing department of any major department store. You are bound to find different types and styles of unisex clothing for babies from 0 to 24 months. If you are technology savvy and an avid online shopper, unisex baby clothes can also be found online. There are some great online deals for unisex baby clothes, so be sure to surf the web for competitive prices.

Many baby accessories like baby blankets, baby bottles, pacifiers, and diaper bags usually come in unisex styles. A light green color or a soft yellow are common colors used for both buys and girls. A lot of diaper bags and blankets are already unisex, so finding one should not be difficult. Baby bottles and pacifiers are general items that all babies use, and come in standard, unisex styles most of the time.

Infant and toddler toys are another great idea when it comes to choosing a unisex present for a baby shower. Mobiles, plush toys, teething toys, bath toys, and plastic baby-safe books are good general toys. Learning and activity toys are becoming more and more popular, and are great for developing the little ones mind and intellect.

Baby Einstein, Leapfrog, Fisher Price, and Little Tikes make toys for infants and toddlers that are amazing for teaching babies the basics before preschool. Some of the most popular games include those that teach babies the alphabet, numbers, basic language, shapes, and the most primary fundamentals of science and geography. Toys that develop a childs musical ear and that deal with identifying sounds are also very popular today.

A classic unisex gift idea for a baby shower that never fails is to create a gift basket with all the essentials. Here you can include diapers, baby bottles, pacifiers, small toys, and you can throw in some candy for the mommy-to-be. Add your own flair by decorating it, again, in colors that are not directly associated with either the male or female gender (like blue or pink). Baby baskets are a fun gift and are very useful for the babys parents. Dont forget to make it cute and creative!

5 Ways To Entertain With Flair

By Kathy Baldwin

Some women just know how to pull off a perfect social gathering, whether its an elegant soiree complete with crystal and linens or an afternoon backyard garden party. Armed with a repertoire of successful dinner party recipes, its possible to create an event that everyone will remember.

For others, it just does not seem to be that easy.

What exactly is involved in creating an awesome party? Everything begins with the you, the host or hostess. You are the key that makes it all come together. If you feel that you are lacking some of the necessary skills or techniques that take the ordinary and make it extraordinary, then the following suggestions may just be what you need.

1. What is the purpose for hosting your party? Are you honoring a specific person or event? Knowing exactly what the purpose of your party and when you are hosting it, is the first piece of information you need. Now you know exactly how much time you have to create this party. The longer the time line, the more planning you can choose to implement. The shorter the time line, the simpler your event should be. You can easily plan parties with very little time and be spontaneous with a little bit of party knowledge.

2. Your time, energy, skills, and money must be expended carefully so that you dont overstretch yourself. Set your menu, and remember that choosing the right dinner party recipes will affect the outcome of your event. You will want to select ingredients carefully. Think carefully about assembling a shopping list. What dishes can you prepare ahead of time? You want time to make everything perfect. So decide what your budget will be in terms of time and money.

3. Decide on a theme. You can extend your theme from your invitations all the way through to the decorations, tableware and napkins, and food. Having the right food can set the whole tone for the party! If you like, you can ask your guests to dress according to the theme"Hawaiian style if you are having a luau, or elegant evening ware for a Titanic-themed dinner party. There are so many wonderful ideas to choose from!

4. Do you need to or even should you include alcoholic beverages in your party planning? This can be an area of your party planning that might involve controversy. If you choose to include a cocktail, your choice must also include the glassware and party style along with your drink choice. Prepare to include a food element whenever providing alcohol. Make sure that you also consider providing a non alcoholic beverage for those who choose not to imbibe. Depending on the size of your party, you may consider hiring a dedicated bartender to oversee the serving of drinks.

5. When you are planning a more casual style party you will want to keep all of your party components casual as well. Instead of having a hired bartender to serve drinks you may wish to consider using coolers filled with ice to store your beer, wine or pop for everyone to serve themselves. There are also party rental companies available everywhere to assist with additional needed items like barbecues, tents, serving ware or even a dance floor. Ask around for recommendations or look up party suppliers in your local phone book.

Do not forget to consider conversation starters and party games to get the interaction of your guests flowing the way you want. It is not enough to provide the food and venue to have a successful party because the host is also responsible for creating the framework of the entertainment. The best hosts are ones who are able to oversee the general atmosphere of the party and mingle with everyone.

Hosting an awesome party and creating an event that will be the stuff of memories is done by utilizing all your hosting skills. This is the time to pull out all of your best stuff and enjoy yourself as well.

Hosting a party that will result in wonderful memories for you and guests can be done by learning all of the necessary skills regardless of where you are starting from today. Do not use any lack you currently feel to stop you from learning what you need to learn and go out and hosting the kind of party you and your friends are craving!

Getting a Corporate Party DJ for an Enjoyable Company Party

By Matt Phipps

An increasing number of companies recognize the importance of organizing corporate parties. A corporate party not only expands the client and customer reach of a company, it also motivates a company's employees. For large companies, hosting corporate events is one of their strategies to outdo their competitors.

DJ service companies offer corporate party packages to cover the needs of various companies. These party packages are designed to help corporate clients organize successful events. The packages usually include a corporate party DJ who is in charge of providing good music to entertain the party guests.

Typically, the DJ is mainly responsible for playing a wide selection of songs not only to entertain party guests, but also to keep the party's mood lively and pleasant. The disc jockey assigned to perform at a corporate party should offer music that is preferred by most of the partygoers. The DJ may opt to personalize the entertainment aspect of the corporate event by employing a certain theme of music. Also, the DJ is in charge of playing the song requests of the people at the party.

These days, a lot of DJ service companies offer affordable prices to their corporate clients. Companies that need DJs for their corporate functions can take advantage of the reasonable prices offered by a lot of DJ service agencies. Hiring a DJ is in fact more cost-efficient than having a band perform at a corporate party.

Hiring a DJ for a corporate function involves contacting a DJ service provider and reserving a DJ for the event. The company needs to inform the DJ service provider about the schedule and other details of the event. At the day of the event, the DJ service provider sends a professional DJ with audio system to the location of the party.

Companies should make early reservations to give the DJ service provider adequate time to prepare the DJ and the necessary equipment for the corporate party. The DJ ensures that all the company's preferences will be met by the music to be provided in the event.

With their employee's well being as one of their priorities, companies are aware that professional DJs can add color to corporate functions such as company anniversaries and Christmas parties.

Apart from allowing their employees to have a good time outside their workplaces, companies host corporate parties to boost employee morale. Company parties also encourage healthy interaction among employees. These goals are best achieved with a good corporate party DJ who can make party guests strut their stuff on the dance floor with great music.

Party Planning 101

By Carol Ann

When planning a party your initial step is to decide on a theme. You will need to be sure that the theme is age appropriate and suits all your invited guests. Not doing this can often backfire and make party guests feel uncomfortable. Some fun themes can include costume parties, murder mystery parties, or decade parties that allow people to dress up and get into character.

The second step, of party planning, is to create your guest list. You will want to try and include people from the various aspects of your life as this will allow for more interesting interactions and conversations. It is also important to invite a few people who know each other. If you invite a guest that will not know any one else at the party they may feel out of place and reluctant to attend.

After you have your theme and your guest list, it is now time to decide on a venue. You want to be sure not to be to elaborate with decorating and spending, therefore you need to find a place that is inexpensive and can create the atmosphere you intend. A great way to save money on decorating is to shop at second hand stores or yard sales. Some of the best parties comes from letting your imagination take over, or from Internet research.

Your last step is to decide on what type of menu you are going to have for your guests. You want to be sure it is appropriate not only to your theme, but your budget and time frame as well. Keeping it simple will allow you more free time to enjoy the party, therefore buffets or bring your dish parties, or choices items that can be prepared before the party are excellent choice. Making a menu that is overly complicated tends to be a common mistake among a host or hostess, as you will be so busy preparing and serving you are left with minimal time to enjoy you guests.

By following these guidelines you are on your way to having a spectacular party that both you and your guest will enjoy.
